Jesus' Secret Disciples

Nicodemus and Joseph

How amazing that different man will react to the same situations in a totally different ways. While Jesus was being crucified, and other disciples are hiding, look at these two Men who stands with Jesus in any way they can, however they are not members of the twelve. Who are they???

1.      Nicodemus – a Pharisee
a.       “the man who had come to Jesus at night” – John 19:39
b.      On John 3:3 he came to Jesus because he was intrigued by the teaching of Jesus speaking the new Kingdom. “Very truly I tell you, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God
c.       He is one of the leaders in synagogues. John 7:50 “Then Nicodemus, the leader who had met with Jesus earlier, spoke up.

2.      Joseph of Arimathea – Member of the ruling council. Luke 23:50
a.       A good and upright man. Luke 23:50
b.      who had not consented to their decision and action. He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God.” John 23:51
c.       He had been a secret disciple of Jesus because he feared the Jewish leaders. Luke 19:38

Nicodemus however was a Pharisee and Joseph of Arimathea a council leader, they are not hesitant of following Jesus until the burial. Maybe they put in secret but their heart was filled with the strength that comes from Jesus teachings. With their own convictions they started to know the kingdom of God which maybe against their culture and traditions. They start loving the teaching of Jesus.  Now what’s my point?

May mga panahon na ang takot sa mga pangyayari ay pwede palang madaig ng pagibig, at ang pangamba ay mapagtagumpayan ng matibay na paniniwala or conviction. On the burial, Nicodemus and Joseph showed up somehow. Now the question is where is Peter and others???
